Event Information

The Start:

10 am – VVV Health and Fitness Club – The Shore, Hest Bank, Nr Lancaster, Lancs, LA2 6EQ

Registration at 9.30am

On arrival, please register with one of the CancerCare staff. They will give you a rider number which you must wear for the duration of the ride.

Parking:

There is ample parking in the public car park adjacent to Happy Mount Park.

Costs are £0.80 for 4 hours, or £1.20 for 10 hours. There is limited parking available at VVV.

The Route:

The ride follows the easy and flat cycle path along Morecambe Promenade. It is a great route – nice and easy to accommodate all abilities with some great views along the way to the Lake District Hills. Once we have started you off at VVV, the route continues to the Midland Hotel, just beyond the lifeboat station. Here you will turn around and continue back on yourselves to finish at Happy Mount Park where we invite you to take part in the Easter Extravaganza!

Marshals:

There will be plenty of CancerCare marshals on the route to help keep you safe. Look out for them, they will be in bright yellow jackets!

Rules of the ride:

While CancerCare have made every provision to make this a safe event – please make sure you adhere to the following:

Please wear a helmet

Ride carefully and with due care to other riders and promenade users

Please listen to any instructions given by CancerCare marshals

Please make sure you sign in at the end of the ride

Please have fun ;-)

What to wear:

Why not come in fancy dress (optional) and dress your bike too!! We hope it will be nice and sunny on the day – but please come suitably dressed for bad weather – ie pack a waterproof top! If you do dress your bike, do so safely and make sure that there is nothing obstructing your wheels or chain. Remember that once in Happy Mount Park there will be prizes for the best dressed rider and bike ;-)

The end of the ride:

Once you arrive at Happy Mount Park, please dismount and either return your bike to your car, or leave it locked at one of the bike racks.

The Easter Extravaganza:

CancerCare have teamed up with Happy Mount Park Catering to provide an Easter Extravaganza. Once you have completed the ride, you are welcome to take part in the following activities:

• Meet the Easter Bunny
• Design your own Easter Card
• Easter stalls
• Grand Easter Egg Hunt
• Easter races

Refreshments:

There is a cafe in the Park - but why not bring your own picnic?
